“When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.” — Tony Robbins
It’s taken me a little while, but I think I’ve found a way to close a yoga class that I really like. Why not speak of gratitude, at every opportunity?
I’ll leave it at that – if you’d like to experience it, come to one of my classes.
About the falafel: near to my workplace is a family-run restaurant that offers Egyptian and Greek foods. They make astoundingly good falafel, using fava and garbanzo beans. Such heavenly yet earthly texture and flavor! Due to home challenges of some sort, they were not ready to offer it for lunch when we arrived, but somehow, perhaps due to the strength of my pout, the friendly proprietor came up with some for me, after I’d nearly polished off my substitute (and delicious) meal of their vegetarian platter. I was willing to wait until my next visit, and yet got rewarded with a surprise.
I am grateful for so much: love, health, breath, space, sunshine, smiles, vision. Daffodils. Lambs. The afghan that Pearl knitted for me, so many years ago. My mom’s love of birds. The joy of skiing on fresh snow. The feel of dirt between my fingers. The purgative power of a mop or a knuckle bleeding after a challenging rock-climbing route.
Oh, man, spring was overdue. Yay! Sun!! Warmth! How spring helps me feel grateful for things from other seasons is amazing.
